About The Role

We are seeking a Licensed Athletic Counselor to join a dynamic and collaborative team dedicated to enhancing athlete mental health and performance. This role blends traditional counseling with evidence-based sport psychology strategies to support athletes, coaches, and teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Counseling & Mental Performance Support
- Provide individual counseling and mental performance services for athletes
- Use tools such as mindfulness, emotional regulation, focus, imagery, and confidence training
- Collaboration & Consultation
- Work with psychologists, athletic trainers, coaches, and performance consultants
- Integrate mental skills into overall performance plans with sports medicine professionals
- Education & Training
- Deliver workshops, presentations, and group sessions for athletes, teams, and coaching staff
- Crisis & Case Management
- Provide crisis intervention and maintain accurate, confidential documentation
- Follow all licensing and professional standards
- Relationship Building
- Build and maintain strong relationships with referral sources and athletic staff
- Education & Licensure
- Master's degree in a behavioral health field
- Licensed or license-eligible in Minnesota (LP, LPC, LPCC, LMFT, LCSW, etc.)
- Experience & Skills
- 1+ years of applied sport psychology or mental performance coaching experience
- Ability to deliver culturally responsive services to diverse populations
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Willingness to work evenings/weekends as needed
- CMPC certification preferred (or willingness to pursue)
