About The Role

Are you passionate about helping athletes thrive-on and off the field? Do you bring both clinical expertise and a drive to optimize performance through mental skills training?

We are seeking a Licensed Athletic Counselor to join a dynamic and collaborative team dedicated to enhancing athlete mental health and performance. This role blends traditional counseling with evidence-based sport psychology strategies to support athletes, coaches, and teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Counseling & Mental Performance Support
• Provide individual counseling and mental performance services for athletes
• Use tools such as mindfulness, emotional regulation, focus, imagery, and confidence training
• Collaboration & Consultation
• Work with psychologists, athletic trainers, coaches, and performance consultants
• Integrate mental skills into overall performance plans with sports medicine professionals
• Education & Training
• Deliver workshops, presentations, and group sessions for athletes, teams, and coaching staff
• Crisis & Case Management
• Provide crisis intervention and maintain accurate, confidential documentation
• Follow all licensing and professional standards
• Relationship Building
• Build and maintain strong relationships with referral sources and athletic staff
  

Qualifications

• Education & Licensure
• Master's degree in a behavioral health field
• Licensed or license-eligible in Minnesota (LP, LPC, LPCC, LMFT, LCSW, etc.)
• Experience & Skills
• 1+ years of applied sport psychology or mental performance coaching experience
• Ability to deliver culturally responsive services to diverse populations
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Willingness to work evenings/weekends as needed
• CMPC certification preferred (or willingness to pursue)
