Job Description
This role is field-based, and candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.
Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, drive sales performance, effectively manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, and leverage customer needs solving capability to maximize short- and long-term sales performance with the patient at the center. Operate within AbbVies business code of conduct, policies and all applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, marketing objectives, etc., to meet or exceed objectives.
- Create pre-call plan objectives and post-call evaluation to continuously improve sales performance. Effectively handle objections, misunderstandings, concerns and consistently gain calls to action to close on every sales call.
- Proactively and continuously aspire to serve customer needs, expectations and challenges to build trusted customer relationships and achieve winwin agreements between AbbVie and customers.
- Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Continuously build understanding of customer needs and territory dynamics; share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales management to align strategy and adapt to changes.
- Differentiate AbbVies value proposition with health providers and identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts to maximize brand performance.
- Driving a personal auto or company car, or a powered piece of material handling equipment, as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant equivalent industry experience; five years of experience with 3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred and a high school diploma/GED required (if no degree).
- Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; strategic and critical thinking capabilities.
- Proactively identifies customer style/behavior and adapts selling approaches; offers innovative ideas to maximize business opportunities.
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment; builds collaborative partnerships with district colleagues and matrix teams.
- Leads by example with positive behaviors and coaching; documented leadership in district, regional or organizational roles.
- Preferred: Proven sales success in relevant therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency.
- HCIR credentialing requirements to gain and maintain entry into facilities within the territory; must be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
- Valid driver's license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and meet safe driving requirements.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at posting time, based on the job grade. Individual compensation will depend on geographic location and may be higher or lower than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
