Assessment Counselor

Location: Pyramid Healthcare – York, PA

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday (Two evenings: 12:00 PM–8:00 PM; Three daytime shifts: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM)

Salary: Starting at $50,000 per year

Pyramid Healthcare in York has a longstanding reputation for delivering high-quality outpatient behavioral health services across southeastern Pennsylvania through its trusted programs—Rehab After Work, The Light Program, and Seeds of Hope. We specialize in providing compassionate, individualized care for teens and adults struggling with substance use, mental health, and eating disorders.

We are seeking a dedicated Assessment Counselor to serve as the first point of contact for clients, helping them begin their recovery journey and access the care they need.

What You’ll Do

  • Welcome new clients and explain the Level of Care Assessment (LOCA) process.
  • Gather demographic and clinical history to inform treatment recommendations.
  • Assist clients with admission paperwork and necessary Releases of Information.
  • Coordinate with licensed clinicians to ensure a smooth transition into care.
  • Complete insurance precertifications for managed care clients, as needed.
  • Facilitate placement in the appropriate treatment program.
  • Provide clinical and administrative support to ensure seamless operations.

What We’re Looking For

Requirements

To meet program requirements, candidates must meet one of the following or be eligible to pursue any of the credentials below:

  • Master’s Degree in a relevant field (counseling, psychology, social work) with current licensure (LPC, LCSW, LMFT) or state certification (CAADC).
  • Master’s Degree in progress toward licensure or certification (CAADC).
  • Bachelor’s Degree with CADC (or pursuing) plus at least one year of clinical experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with CAAC.
