Case Manager and Professional Development Instructor
Opportunity Junction seeks a full time (40 hours/week) experienced case manager to support interns in our Administrative Careers Training (ACT) program. The ACT Intern Manager oversees the intern phase of the ACT program, particularly the Professional Career Skills training, as well as Case Management for all interns in our intensive 12-week administrative intern training program. The right candidate will be an excellent communicator and relationship builder with a knowledge of case management best practices. This position is also responsible for teaching Professional Career Skills to a classroom of students 5 days a week.
This is a full-time position that requires some evening hours.
Responsibilities:
- Development and Delivery of Career Skills Curriculum
- Develop and revise curriculum in response to current and emerging labor market concerns;
- Identify and recruit volunteer guest speakers to deliver elements of the curriculum and conduct mock interviews;
- Review, edit, and approve all documents related to job search and job readiness; and
- Work with Business Services Manager to match candidates to current openings.

- Job Search Coaching
- Mentor Interns and evaluate job readiness;
- Evaluate interns’ personal self-analysis and career interests; and
- Model professional behaviors.
- Case Management
- Provide positive and supportive case management, guide interns during crisis management;
- Conduct one-on-one case management sessions;
- Provide information on community resources that benefit program participants;
- Promote and enforce program policies and procedures and provide recommended disciplinary action when necessary;
- Maintain intern case files, including written documentation of personal and professional development;
- Research and foster positive collaborative relationships with other community-based organizations that may provide valuable service to our program participants; and
- Maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality.
- Intern Supervision
- Supervise the professional conduct of Interns;
- Verify timesheets, approve timesheets; and
- Encourage and motivate Interns to maintain a positive and proactive approach to job search.
- Application/Selection Process:
- Interview/assess ACT applicants; and
- Participate in the selection process.

- Career Counseling: Able to coach, support, and identify employment barriers, and guide participants as they gain skills;
- Adaptability/Flexibility: Ability to adjust priorities and procedures depending on organizational needs and goals; and
- Computer proficiency: proficiency in Outlook and Word, and the ability to enter data in Salesforce.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related areas, or work experience equivalent to education.
- Minimum 2 years related experience including case management and familiarity with community services for unemployed and underemployed adults.
- Ability to travel to graduations and other ACT events in East Contra Costa County, as well as trainings within the Bay Area.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
Salary range of $55,000-$67,500 and benefits include 17 days of holidays along with vacation accrual of 21 days per year, and 3% 403B match. Work schedule is in office Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm, with occasional evening hours for special events.
