A Better Journey Therapeutic & Educational Services is a virtual provider of court-approved behavioral health and education programs for justice-involved individuals across Texas. We specialize in IOP, SOP, relapse prevention, and TDLR-approved DWI and drug offender education programs, with a commitment to supportive, nonjudgmental care.

Job Summary:

A Better Journey seeks a dedicated and compassionate certified TDLR Instructor who is also a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) or LCDC-Intern to facilitate state-approved education programs. You will lead structured group sessions via Zoom and complete required reporting in accordance with state and program standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate virtual group sessions in accordance with TDLR curriculum
  • Maintain accurate attendance and completion records
  • Provide certificates and required documentation to referring agencies
  • Submit reports on time via IntakeQ or designated systems
  • Ensure all services are delivered ethically and professionally
  • Maintain strong communication with clients and probation officers

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Active TDLR Instructor License for DWI Education, DWI Intervention, and DOEP
  • LCDC or LCDC-I in the State of Texas
  • Experience working with court-ordered or justice-involved clients
  • Comfortable using Zoom and electronic documentation systems

Preferred:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Available for weekend or evening courses
  • Experience with IntakeQ or similar software

Skills:

  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate professionally with probation officers and court representatives.
  • Ability to quickly build rapport with clients and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities for substance use disorders.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems, Excel, Word, and Outlook. Personal Attributes:
  • Compassionate and empathetic.
  • Flexible and adaptable with remote work and team meetings.
  • Preferred qualifications include a personal history of substance use with a minimum of five years in recovery.

Working Conditions:

  • Contract Full-time position, including some evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Work is performed remotely in a professional setting.

Weekly Schedule:

  • Full-time (weekly courses + IOP/SOP groups)
  • Flexible hours with the ability to work from home.
  • Shift options: Monday through Friday 3pm-10pm or Wednesday through Sunday 3pm-10pm. Split-Shift Wednesday through Sunday 9am- 12pm and 6pm - 10pm

Total Weekly Hours:

  • 35 hours per week (approx.)

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
