Position Summary:

The Adjunct Instructor will teach graduate-level courses in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. Instructors are expected to foster a collaborative, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment aligned with the program’s mission to prepare culturally competent, ethical, and reflective counseling professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach assigned graduate-level courses within the CMHC curriculum, in-person and/or hybrid, consistent with CACREP standards and program learning outcomes.
  • Design and deliver engaging, rigorous, and accessible instruction that integrates counseling theory, evidence-based practice, and professional ethical standards.
  • Foster a classroom culture of respect, reflection, and cultural humility, supporting the development of students as culturally competent counselors.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback on student work to promote academic growth and professional skill development.
  • Incorporate experiential and practice-based learning opportunities that prepare students for clinical practice.
  • Maintain accurate academic records, grades, and documentation in accordance with institutional policies.
  • Offer mentorship and support to students, demonstrating a commitment to their personal and professional development.
  • Collaborate with program faculty and leadership to ensure curricular consistency and continuous improvement related to program assessment and evaluation plan
  • Participate in meetings as requested
  • Understanding of and commitment to the mission of the College.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling or a closely related field required
  • Licensed or license eligible as a professional counselor (e.g., LMHC, LPC, LCPC) strongly preferred.
  • Prior teaching or supervision experience in counseling at the graduate level desirable.
  • Demonstrated commitment to multicultural competence, ethical practice, and the values of dignity, compassion, and service.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Technology Skills:

  • Proficiency in Windows operating environment using MS Office applications (particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), e-mail, and internet programs.
  • Facility with, or willingness to learn MS Teams to conduct virtual meetings with students.

Salary: $5,000 per 3 credit course
