Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, empathetic, and qualified counselor to provide support and guidance to individuals dealing with personal, emotional, educational, or psychological challenges. The ideal candidate will use active listening, evidence-based practices, and ethical counseling techniques to help clients achieve mental wellness and personal growth. This role involves providing therapeutic support, conducting assessments, and developing treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of clients. The Counselor will work with diverse populations, including children, families, and individuals.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual, group, or family counseling sessions
- Assess clients’ needs through interviews, observations, and standardized assessments
- Develop and implement personalized treatment or action plans
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Complete session notes within 2 business days
- Provide crisis intervention
- Communicate bi-way in a consistent and timely manner
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, educators, or other service providers
- Refer clients to community resources or specialists when appropriate
- Promote mental health awareness and support wellness initiatives
- Participate and/or coordinate community engagement opportunities
- Stay updated with continuing education, certifications, and trainings
Skills
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
- State of TX licensure (LPC or Associate; LCSW or LMSW; LMFT, or equivalent)
- Proficiency in psychotherapy techniques and crisis management
- Strong intrapersonal/interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information ethically and professionally
- Proficient in case management and documentation
- Laptop and HIPPA compliant technical devices
