Strides Academy is a RI based accredited private special education alternative day school for students with emotional and behavioral challenges. We offer a wide range of services to all genders, grades 1-8, in small intensive group settings with a special educator and 2-3 behavior technicians per classroom. All classrooms are supported by a Board-Certified Behavioral Analyst.

Strides Academy is hiring for qualified Behavior Technicians who are looking for an environment where they can make a difference and grow!

Responsibilities:

• Provide adequate support and supervision to students with emotional and behavioral challenges in a private special education day school setting
• Implement ABA therapy techniques and individualized treatment plans designed by the BCBA/LBA
• Work alongside the Special Education Teacher.
• Collect lesson and behavioral data.
• Report to BCBA on student progress.
• Complete detailed notes in a timely manner.
• Be responsive to the needs and requests of students, their families and supervisors.
• Ensure safety and willing to implement crisis management procedures, as necessary.
• Any other tasks outlined by BCBA.
• Participate in monthly meetings and trainings.

Qualifications:

• Must have a minimum of a high school degree and be at least 19 years of age.
• Hold current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (preferred)
• Successfully pass a BCI and CANTs screening.
• Knowledge and experience of applied behavior analysis (preferred)
• Have at least two years of experience working with individuals exhibiting challenging behavior (preferred)
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• CPR and First Aid Certified (preferred)
• Safety-Care Trained (preferred)
• Must be willing to travel, hold a valid driver license, and access to an operational and insured vehicle.
