About Job

Salem, OR | Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM

Make a Difference Every Day

Do you love working with kids? At Adventures with Autism (AwA), we help children with autism build the skills they need to succeed at home, in school, and in the community. As a Behavior Technician, you’ll spend your days making a direct, positive impact on children and their families.

This isn’t just a job — it’s a chance to help kids learn to communicate, play, and grow in ways that will change their lives forever.

What You’ll Do

  • Work 1:1 with children ages 18 months–13 years
  • Teach kids new skills through play, structured learning, and positive encouragement
  • Support communication, social, and life skills
  • Follow a treatment plan created by a BCBA (we’ll train you!)
  • Track progress with simple daily notes
  • Celebrate every small win — because they all add up to big changes

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED required (college degree a plus but not required)
  • Experience working with kids — in school, daycare, babysitting, camps, or caregiving — is helpful
  • A patient, compassionate personality and love for children
  • Reliable — able to work Monday–Friday, 8:30–4:30
  • Excited to learn! We’ll provide full paid training and certification

Pay & Benefits

  • Starting Pay: $19/hour (~$36,500 annually)
  • Raises & Bonuses: First raise at 90 days + monthly bonus opportunities
  • Full Benefits Package: Health, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, and 11 paid holidays
  • Paid Training: RBT certification and CPR/First Aid at no cost
  • Total Compensation Value: Up to $52,500+ annually with benefits

Why AwA?

We know working with kids is joyful, but it can also be hard work. Unlike many clinics, we don’t ask you to work evenings or weekends. Your schedule is consistent, Monday through Friday. We also close early one day a week for staff training — so you’re always learning, supported, and growing.

You’ll join a team that celebrates together (Wacky Wednesdays!), supports each other (peer recognition with AwA Dollars), and truly values work-life balance.

If you’re ready to turn your love for kids into a meaningful career, apply today and start your adventure with AwA!
