Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health counseling and a passion for helping individuals navigate their challenges. This role involves providing therapeutic support to clients, including children and families, and utilizing various counseling techniques to promote healing and personal growth. The Counselor will work in a collaborative environment, focusing on crisis intervention, case management, and the development of individualized treatment plans.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake assessments and develop personalized treatment plans for clients.
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions utilizing techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and crisis management.
  • Offer specialized support in areas such as addiction counseling, grief counseling, PTSD care, and behavioral therapy.
  • Facilitate family counseling sessions to enhance communication and resolve conflicts.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, including ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding.
  • Engage in crisis intervention strategies to support clients in acute distress.
  • Utilize telehealth platforms for remote counseling sessions when necessary.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is required. Counselor Intern
  • Valid licensure LPC, LCSW, PLPC, LMSW Or Intern
  • Experience working with children and families is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities including psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis is beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of mental health issues including chronic pain management and geriatrics.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
  • Ability to conduct diagnostic evaluations and develop effective case management strategies.
