We are seeking a part-time Social Work professional to support K-12 students in a school setting in Ann Arbor, MI. This contract position focuses on providing specialized social work services to students with disabilities, specifically those classified under Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD).
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting assessments and developing intervention plans tailored to individual student needs in partnership with educators and families.
- Providing counseling, crisis intervention, and support services to students within the special education population.
- Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and families to promote a positive school environment and support student success.
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting interventions as necessary.
- Assisting in compliance with Individualized Education Program (IEP) team requirements.
Desired qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
- Professional licensure or eligibility as a School Social Worker.
- Experience working with K-12 students, particularly those with ASD and SLD.
- Strong understanding of special education laws, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage caseloads effectively within a school environment.
