Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.


A full-time School Social Worker position is available within a K-12 school setting in Waukegan, IL, for the upcoming school year. This contract role offers the opportunity to support students primarily in 4th and 5th grades, providing vital social work services that promote their academic and emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions addressing students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and community resources to develop intervention plans
  • Assess student needs and create supportive strategies to enhance school adjustment and performance
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to support student success
  • Provide crisis intervention and referrals as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois School Social Worker (SSW) license required
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students is preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage a caseload while maintaining compliance with school policies and confidentiality standards

Location:

  • Onsite at a full-service school in Waukegan, Illinois
