About Job

Ayer Shirley Regional School District is looking for a School Psychologist to assist in the goal of helping students in our district fully develop their unique intellectual, social, and emotional capabilities.Duties Include:
  • Administer and interpret formal and informal cognitive and other relevant evaluations required to determine eligibility for special education services, as well as for ongoing reevaluations.
  • Use a variety of instruments and techniques that are appropriate for the student. This includes report writing, data analysis, and dissemination of results.
  • Review student records for the screening and evaluation process of current and new students, including Kindergarten screening.
  • Collaborate with building and support staff throughout the district and parents and outside agencies to meet the needs of students.
  • Participate as a member of the IEP team as well as other relevant school-based teams including crisis support, SSG, MTSS, PBIS, SEL, etc
  • Write IEP goals and objectives. Monitor progress and write progress reports on students on caseload
  • Participation in IEP meetings and advising the development of IEP goals Collaborate with others to develop appropriate cognitive and academic goals for students with different abilities, disabilities, strengths, and needs, and develop interventions to achieve these goals
  • Provide group and individual lessons on social-emotional skill development as well as individual counseling sessions based on student needs and IEP goals/objectives
  • Provide direct services to individuals or groups of students (e.g., counseling, crisis interventions, mentoring, and individual safety plans, when appropriate).
  • Involvement and consultation around behavioral interventions and plans, in conjunction with the teachers, staff, and families
  • Support, with more focus, the students who have disabilities that affect their behavior, social skills, and or mental health
  • Participate in ongoing PD including maintaining knowledge of new intervention strategies and new assessments in the areas of instructional strategies, behavior management, behavioral intervention plans, and emotional disabilities
  • Participate in planning and implementing prevention programs to address students' social and emotional needs (e.g., programs to address bullying, school violence, and school safety)
  • Maintains confidentiality for the purpose of protection of students, staff, parents, and the district
  • Supports and promotes the districts goals and initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned by the Administration
