Requirements:

Job Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze individual and business tax returns for accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
  • Ensure all tax documentation is complete and accurate before filing deadlines.
  • Identify potential tax issues and provide solutions or recommendations to mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with tax preparers to clarify and resolve discrepancies in tax documents.
  • Verify all deductions, credits, and exemptions claimed on tax returns.
  • Stay updated on current tax regulations and industry trends impacting tax compliance.
  • Assist in preparing for tax audits and liaising with auditors as needed.
  • Provide guidance and support to tax return preparers in the review process.
  • Maintain organized records of all reviewed tax documents and correspondence.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to explain tax return findings and recommendations.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax preparation and review.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in CCH tax preparation software or other similar programs such as Ultra Tax and TaxAct
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in reviewing various tax returns, including individual, corporate, and partnership.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
  • Experience with tax research and documentation of findings.
