General Purpose of Position
The School Psychologist is responsible for conducting student assessments, documenting results, and providing support related to behavioral, social, and academic needs. The role involves collaboration with educational teams to ensure students receive the appropriate services and interventions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver services in accordance with professional and ethical standards of practice.

  • Comply with federal, state, and local policies and regulations governing school psychology.

  • Ensure the rights and welfare of students in both school and community settings.

  • Conduct assessments related to learning, behavioral, social, and functional needs.

  • Interpret, analyze, and report assessment results with actionable recommendations.

  • Participate as a member of Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams and other student support teams.

  • Complete comprehensive psychological evaluation reports within established timelines.

  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and assist in developing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).

  • Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to design appropriate interventions and supports.

  • Provide individual or small-group counseling as needed to support student well-being.

  • Serve as a member of crisis response and intervention teams.

  • Assist with the transition of students from alternative placements to traditional school settings.

  • Plan and deliver professional development sessions as assigned.

  • Provide consultation and resources to staff and families regarding academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Certification or eligibility for certification as a School Psychologist in accordance with state requirements.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
