Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavior Technician to join our team. In this role, you will work directly with individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities, implementing behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Your primary focus will be to support clients in achieving their personal goals through applied behavior analysis techniques while fostering a positive and encouraging environment.
Duties
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans for clients, focusing on skill acquisition and behavior reduction.
- Collect and record data on client progress and behaviors to inform treatment decisions.
- Work closely with clients to promote social skills, communication, and daily living skills.
- Assist in the development of treatment plans by providing insights based on direct observations and data collection.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with organizational policies.
- Collaborate with families and caregivers to ensure consistency in behavioral strategies across settings.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions to enhance knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques and medical terminology related to developmental disabilities.
Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Familiarity with applied behavior analysis principles and data collection methods.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to behavioral health is advantageous.
- Ability to effectively communicate with clients, families, and team members.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail when documenting client behaviors.
- A background in working with children is desirable but not mandatory.
- A compassionate attitude towards working with people with disabilities is essential.
