The Department of Psychology at Bryant University invites applications for a non-tenure track position as Lecturer in psychology, beginning August 2026.

The Department of Psychology has undergone considerable growth in recent years and offers a BS in psychology, a psychology concentration, and a psychology minor, and a doctoral program in clinical psychology (PsyD). The exceptional candidate will have strong commitment to and passion for teaching in both the undergraduate and graduate programs and will foster students’ growth and development, both academically and professionally.

The Psychology department is a flagship program in the growing School of Health and Behavioral Sciences at Bryant University, which currently offers undergraduate majors in Psychology, Biology, Health Sciences, Healthcare Analytics, and Exercise and Movement Science, as well as graduate programs in Clinical Psychology, Physician Assistant Studies, and Healthcare Informatics and AI. Teaching responsibilities include general and clinically focused undergraduate courses (e.g., Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Clinical Psychopathology, Child Psychopathology, Counseling Theory & Practice) as well as graduate courses in our PsyD program. Additional responsibilities include student mentorship with active involvement in student-related activities (e.g., research and internship supervision, departmental advising), as well as providing service to the department and the university.

Earned doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited institution; experience in the field and teaching of clinical psychology practice, and scholarship; licensed or license-eligible in RI; involvement in ongoing clinical practice is preferred and supported; the application of innovative classroom delivery; excellent written and oral communication skills; team building, self-motivation, and innovation in educational program offerings are expected. Area of practice and theoretical orientation are open, but deep knowledge of evidence-based practices and experience in health psychology and/or child and adolescent psychopathology are preferred. A commitment to student well-being and belonging within the program and the university community is essential, as well as a commitment to broadening access to the behavioral health workforce.
