This position manages the intake of emergency services guests. They work to make sure each guest has completed their intake paperwork. They will provide them with a tour, explain the services available to them, and answer any questions.

Open Door Mission is a Gospel Rescue Mission founded in 1954 committed to breaking the cycle of homelessness and poverty. Each day, Open Door Mission’s campus offers 917 safe, shelter beds to people experiencing homelessness, serves over 4,747 nutritious meals to feed the hungry, and provides homeless preventive resources to more than 1,000 people living in poverty to empower them to remain in their own homes.

About This Position
This position manages the intake of emergency services guests. They work to make sure each guest has completed their intake paperwork. They will provide them with a tour, explain the services available to them, and answer any questions.
Responsibilities
A full job description will be provided for review during the interview process.
- Provide intake and medical assessment of new and returning guests.
- Determine immediate needs, connect guests with appropriate resources during the intake interview.
- Provide initial resource case management services to guests
- Drive Open Door Mission van to transport guests.
- Provide emergency crisis counseling, problem solving, and de-escalation to guests and staff.
- Maintain accurate documentation and communication concerning all guests.
- Exemplify Jesus Christ daily, sharing the gospel or praying with others as opportunities arise.
- Experience in a social service organization.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Eager to learn about the needs of the guests and the resources to assist them.
- You have a visible relationship with Christ and regularly attend a Bible-believing church.
- Knowledge of human services, local human services agencies, homelessness, crisis intervention, chemical dependency, recovery, mental illness, domestic violence, social issues, evangelism, management, scheduling, and counseling.
