Director of Inpatient Nursing

To promote and provide optimal quality patient care and ensure the efficient and cost effective movement of patients through the health care continuum while promoting patient, family and staff satisfaction. To monitor for medical necessity of admissions, continued stays and professional services rendered. To determine appropriateness of admission type and level of care. This role integrates and coordinates with utilization management, care facilitation and discharge planning functions. Services provided are, but not limited to: discharge planning, information and referral, coordination of services, education, advocacy and post-acute follow-up. Fulfills UR and Social Work duties as needed.

Must be able to occasionally work non-standard hours and may be in excess of 40 hours a week.

BSN from an accredited School of Nursing.

Two to four years related experience perferred.

Must be proficient in Microsoft applications. Knowledge in using electronic medical records and other databases.

RN Nursing License in the State of Indiana.

Knowledge of changes in regulations and requirements. Knowledge of healthcare delivery system, medical terminology, screening material, assessment skills, patient safety and quality initiative, management and treatment protocols and regulatory guidelines. Reading and math skills to analyze data, calculate results, and prepare graph. This position requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, use of hands and fingers, lifting and carrying 0–10 lbs and pushing and pulling 0–12 lbs.
