Exodus Transitional Community is seeking a therapist to assist in launching East Harlem’s newest Article 31 Office of Mental Health (OMH) Treatment Center, Genesis. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a therapist who is motivated to establish a positive and outcome focused Mental Health Treatment Center. We are interested in working with a therapist who views participants in a holistic way, not just as a problem that needs to be solved.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the mental health needs of participants.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions to address various mental health issues, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing acute emotional distress.
- Flexibility is a must.
- Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and clinical supervision sessions to enhance professional development.
- Collaborate with Genesis treatment team and external providers to support program participant discharge and transition planning and execution.
- Utilizing Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software, ensure that all services provided are appropriately documented per best practices in a timely manner.
- Stay informed about best practices, treatment modalities, and developments in the field of mental health.
- Adhere to ethical standards and maintain client confidentiality.
- Responsible for manning Crisis Hotline when assigned and on a rotating schedule.
- Other tasks as required or needed
Qualifications
- License: New York State LMHC, LMSW, LMFT (Required) .
- Justice impacted people encouraged to apply.
- Bi-lingual strongly preferred.
- Experience working in an outpatient setting preferred.
- Deep understanding of working with individuals facing serious mental illness.
- Strong understanding of various therapeutic modalities and evidence-based practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients and the interdisciplinary team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage a diverse caseload.
- Commitment to cultural competence and providing inclusive, client-centered care.
Other Requirements: Candidates must be able to safely climb two flights of stairs, lift up to 15 pounds at times, work for prolonged periods sitting while meeting with clients and/or facilitating groups.
