Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct clinical services, consultative services, and supervision in compliance with YesCare policies, Department of Correction regulations, and state statutes governing clinical mental health practice.
- Offer behavioral health services, including intake assessments, individual and group therapy, treatment planning, and discharge planning.
- Respond to crisis intervention needs, providing support for institutional staff and inmates, including on-call services when necessary.
- Assist in facilitating appropriate patient placement when an inmate is a danger to themselves or others, ensuring they receive necessary care.
- Document all clinical encounters and behavioral health information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), ensuring compliance with institutional and YesCare policies.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists and nursing staff in monitoring psychotropic medication management.
- Provide mental health training and human behavior education to institutional staff, enhancing their ability to manage mental health issues.
- Participate in staff meetings, in-service training, and professional development opportunities through YesCare and the Department of Correction.
- Offer clinical supervision to behavioral health staff, ensuring the quality of service delivery and fostering professional growth.
- Maintain confidentiality of inmate information in accordance with Department of Correction policies and ethical standards.
- Foster strong working relationships with other behavioral health staff, YesCare administrative and medical personnel, Department of Correction staff, inmates, and outside support agencies.
- Adhere to professional conduct standards, maintaining a professional appearance, and ensuring timely communication of absences or other relevant issues.
Key Qualifications
- Doctoral Degree in Psychology or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Current Psychologist License in the State of Employment.
- Current HSPP (Health Service Provider in Psychology) endorsement or eligibility to deliver clinical mental health services under supervision until full licensure and endorsement are achieved.
- Completion of background check, security clearance, and drug screening as required.
