New Hire Bonus: $500

Hope For Youth is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Residential Counselors (Direct Care Staff). This role is essential in supporting youth in a structured, supportive, and therapeutic environment. We offer both full-time and part-time opportunities, with flexible shifts. Be sure to include your availability when applying!


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day support to youth, including:

    • Documentation

    • Laundry and cleaning

    • Transportation to appointments

    • Supervising recreational and daily living activities

  • Supervise and support youth using the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) model-without therapeutic holds

  • Resolve resident issues or concerns effectively and compassionately

  • Attend all required staff meetings, supervision sessions, and training programs

  • Perform any additional responsibilities as required by Hope For Youth, oversight agencies, and applicable regulations


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Valid NYS Driver's License in good standing

    • Must be 21 years of age or older to transport youth

  • Ability to meet physical requirements, including:

    • Operating a motor vehicle

    • Lifting/moving up to 50 pounds

    • Escorting youth in the community

    • Physically intervening in crisis situations if needed

  • Flexibility to work various shifts and locations

  • Relevant experience in childcare, residential, or human services settings is preferred
