Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Technician to join our growing team. This position plays a vital role in supporting individuals facing a range of mental health challenges. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in mental health settings and a passion for providing exceptional care in a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of treatment plans under the supervision of licensed mental health professionals
- Conduct patient assessments and maintain accurate, HIPAA-compliant medical documentation
- Facilitate individual and group sessions using techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and crisis intervention
- Provide direct support to patients with developmental disabilities, PTSD, and other behavioral health conditions
- Utilize behavior management and crisis intervention strategies to ensure client safety and well-being
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust treatment strategies
- Participate in intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations
- Engage patients through various therapeutic modalities, including art therapy, dance therapy, and psychodynamic approaches
- Contribute to clinical research efforts and quality improvement initiatives, as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience in mental health counseling, social work, or related fields
- Familiarity with behavioral health diagnoses and treatment planning
- Knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems (preferred)
- Experience working with children, older adults, or individuals with developmental disabilities (preferred)
- Understanding of behavioral interventions, including applied behavior analysis (ABA)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in inpatient, outpatient, and/or telehealth environments
- Background in crisis management, de-escalation, and motivational interviewing
- Commitment to continuing education in areas such as grief counseling, trauma-informed care, or chronic condition support
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
