About Job

The Behavioral Health Care Manager position is for master’s level licensed clinicians. Join a growing team of clinicians in Sheppard Pratt’s Collaborative Care Practice at GBMC. Sheppard Pratt has positions available for master’s level, licensed clinicians and psychologists to join outpatient teams as behavioral health care managers with Sheppard Pratt’s Collaborative Care Practice at GBMC.

General Summary:

This position will join outpatient teams as behavioral health care managers with Sheppard Pratt’s Collaborative Care Practice at an assigned contract location .

Principal Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Outreaching referred primary care patients, discussing the service and scheduling.
  • Completing comprehensive psychosocial intake
  • Developing and coordinating patients' treatment plans
  • Providing patients with brief, evidence-based psychotherapy such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, behavioral activation, and problem-solving treatment
  • Aiding medication management, including consultation with psychiatrist
  • Performing proactive follow-up regarding a patient's response to treatment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Position requires a current social work license (LMSW) or counseling license (LGPC) in Maryland at the time of appointment
    • LM/LG licensed candidates - 2-3 years in related experience preferably in human services related work is strongly preferred. Clinician supervision is provided.
  • Position requires strong communication skills to engage patients in treatment, work with them to reduce psychiatric symptomatology, and to effectively coordinate with the psychiatric consultant regarding treatment changes and to communicate with the primary care or outpatient provider when a patient is not improving

Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, board certifications and years and level of related experience. The pay range for this position is $65k - $83k.

Care provided in both virtual / telehealth and face-to-face visit formats based on the needs of the client and host practices. Behavioral Health Care Managers may telecommute up to 3 days per week, with 2 days in the practice.
