About Spark + Pivot Counseling

Spark + Pivot Counseling is a private practice based in Dallas, Texas, that specializes in neurodiversity‑affirming therapy and career counseling for autistic, ADHD, AuDHD adults.

We support clients who have long felt that their differences made them “less than” by helping them embrace their unique strengths, heal from trauma, and build fulfilling personal and professional lives. Our treatment planning approach is multidisciplinary. By deriving insights from contemporary research in psychology, neuroscience, psychiatry, occupational therapy, and career development, we create integrated, collaborative treatment plans and coordinate care with a broad array of providers.

Currently a solo practice, Spark + Pivot Counseling is growing at a healthy rate thanks to its owner's commitment to advocacy and education, collaboration with a multitude of state-wide providers, and strong word-of-mouth from clients. Megan Parks DuBose is a passionate neurodiversity advocate and counselor looking for an equally (if not more) passionate and competent counselor to support waitlist clients and those needing appointment times that Megan cannot accommodate.

Our Future Teammate:

Sees that career satisfaction is deeply intertwined with mental health, and vice-versa. Therefore, understands their role as counselor is to support the integration of these things for our adult clients pursuing career change.

Neurodiversity-affirming (or desire to learn and practice neurodiversity-affirming counseling principles)

Anti-oppression and LGBTQ+ affirming - empathetic to the impact of systemic inequities on marginalized identities; and capable of supporting clients navigating barriers at work

Aware of personal privileges and biases and how they show up in session

Committed to social justice and equity in mental health practice

Demonstrated commitment to life-long growth and continuing education

Well-researched and passionate, yet approachable. I have 0 tolerance for entitlement, fragile egos, and “this is the way it’s always been done” mentalities.
