Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Chemical Dependency Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in addiction counseling and mental health support, demonstrating a commitment to helping individuals navigate their recovery journey. This role involves providing individual and group counseling, conducting assessments, and developing treatment plans tailored to the needs of clients. The counselor will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients dealing with substance use disorders.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and intake evaluations to determine the appropriate treatment plan.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions utilizing various therapeutic techniques, including cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies and manage crisis situations effectively.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care, including case management and coordination of services.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, including ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions focusing on addiction recovery, grief counseling, and behavioral health issues.
- Engage in clinical research to enhance treatment methodologies and improve patient outcomes.
- Offer support for patients dealing with PTSD, chronic pain, or developmental disabilities through tailored therapeutic approaches.
- Utilize telehealth platforms for remote counseling sessions when necessary.
- Provide education on addiction issues to patients and their families while fostering a supportive environment.
Qualifications
- LCDC III Certification
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 10 per week
