JOB DESCRIPTION: PATIENT CARE COORDINATOR

We are looking for a very positive, upbeat, and patient person to be the first point of contact for our practice. We need someone who has excellent oral and written communication abilities, strong organizational skills, a strong attention to detail, and good typing ability (>45 wpm). The perfect candidate would also have familiarity with the following programs: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Google workspaces, and Zoom.

Additional Position Details

Hours: This is a dayshift, full-time position with a 40 hours per week guarantee. Work location is in-person only.

Salary: Starting wage training for the first 3 months is $20/hour and then after the training period, a raise will be given, commensurate with ability.

Benefits: At this time, we are unable to provide benefits beyond holiday pay and earned paid time off (PTO). There may be opportunities for extra earnings based on the value you bring and how well your contributions support the overall success of the clinic.

Requirements:

1. Be present and on time.

2. Be able to work with a variety of patients and co-workers daily.

3. Answer phone calls, call patients who were referred to our practice, follow up with referral sources regarding patient appointments.

4. Keep the weekly appointment schedule organized. Perform reminder appointment phone calls and answer voicemails.

5. Manage office/provider calendar and scheduling templates.

6. Organize and input data of new patient paperwork, consents, etc. Use a scanner for data entry and filing daily.

7. Collect payments from patients, use point-of-sale (POS) system.

8. Create and organize meetings, presentations, and community outreach events.

9. Check-in/out scheduled patients. Make follow-up appointments. Follow-up with patients, community agencies, and other providers as needed by providers.

10. Basic hearing aid troubleshooting (we will train you). Willingness and ability to train for other areas of patient-focused care is a plus.

11. Other duties as needed or assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to learn electronic medical records software
  • A heart to help
