Job Title: Middle School Counselor/504 Coordinator

Location: Legacy Preparatory - Mesquite West Campus

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Middle School Counselor/504 Coordinator to join our team at Legacy Preparatory - Mesquite West Campus. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our students' educational journey by providing them with the necessary guidance and support to help them navigate their middle school years successfully.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide individual and group counseling to students around various issues such as academic achievement, personal/social development, and career development.

2. Coordinate and manage the 504 Plan process, including identifying eligible students, developing accommodation plans, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

3. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to identify student needs and develop strategies to address those needs.

4. Conduct assessments to evaluate student abilities, interests, and personalities to help them develop realistic academic and career goals.

5. Promote a positive learning environment and respond to the individual educational and emotional needs of students.

6. Develop and implement comprehensive school counseling programs that focus on student outcomes, teach student competencies, and are delivered with identified professional competencies.

2. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

3. Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.

4. Knowledge of counseling theories and techniques.

5. Understanding of the 504 Plan process and related laws and regulations.

6. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Certifications:

The candidate must hold a valid Texas certification in school counseling
