Join a dynamic team in the Department of Psychiatry at Albany Medical College as a Weekend Psychiatrist. We are looking for a board certified or board eligible psychiatrist to work Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 5pm three weekends per month. Our Psychiatry Service is committed to fostering a supportive, collaborative, and respectful educational environment with strong relationships among faculty, residents, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise residents and oversee patient care on our 26-bed inpatient unit.
• Manage the consultation-liaison service including consults in the AMC ER and on various medical floors.
• Provide direct care to patients alongside residents and may be asked to deliver care independently beyond the resident schedule.
• Review consultations conducted by psychiatry residents on call and offer educational guidance and treatment planning.

The first half of each shift focuses on the inpatient service line, while the remainder allows for consults in the ER and hospital, as well as offering support and guidance to the inpatient unit.

Compensation: Starting base salary ranges from $240,000 to $250,000, negotiable based on rank and experience.

Successful candidates can also apply for an academic appointment as Assistant Professor, depending on qualifications. Additionally, per diem weekend options are available.
