Job Title: Community Support Specialist
Reports to: Manager of Support Services

Thursday-Saturday 3-11:30pm
&
Saturday-Sunday 7am-3:30pm

Typical functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Coordinating events and activities for community building - “permission to play”
- Understanding and enforcement of policy for safety, health, and stability of the Village
- Understanding and upholding compliance as it relates to confidentiality and HIPAA regulations
- Assist with conflict resolution between neighbors to build trust and foster a safe and supportive environment
- Coaching neighbors on health & wellness goals such as activities of daily living (i.e cleaning, showering, cooking, as necessary)
- Responding to emergencies (CPR), crisis intervention, and applying de-escalation techniques to increase neighbors safety and well-being
- Performing miscellaneous administrative duties, such as delivering mail/packages, office organizing, light cleaning, etc.
- Following support plans created by the Case Manager, for enhancing the well-being and long term goals of neighbors
- Documenting incidents and effectively communicating pertinent information daily with team members to ensure continuity of care for neighbors
Required Qualifications:
- Strong passion for aiding individuals facing homelessness and supporting them in their wellness and recovery journey
- High levels of empathy and understanding for those with urgent case management needs
- Must be flexible and oriented towards harm reduction principles (this is a behavioral program, NOT a sober-living environment)
- Interest and/or understanding in working with harm reduction, substance use/addiction recovery
Preferred Qualifications:
- Lived experience and/or work experience with current and/or formerly unhoused community
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services or other social service field
Compensation
- $20-22/hr
