A school district in Romulus, MI is seeking a qualified School Psychologist to support high school students for the upcoming school year. This contract position offers the opportunity to contribute to student success through psychological assessment, counseling, and collaboration with educators and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations and assessments for students to identify learning, behavioral, and emotional needs
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and behavioral intervention plans
- Provide counseling and crisis intervention services to students
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student academic and social-emotional growth
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to data-driven decision-making
- Assist with compliance and reporting related to special education regulations and guidelines
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid School Psychologist certification or licensure appropriate for the state of Michigan
- Experience working in a high school setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of psychological assessment tools, intervention strategies, and special education law
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and school personnel
