Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.


This full-time Social Worker position is based in an early childhood school setting in Chicago, IL, serving students from Pre-K through 4th grade. The role supports a caseload of approximately 35 students throughout the school year on a contract basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive social work services to a diverse caseload of early childhood and elementary students
  • Address social, emotional, and behavioral challenges impacting student success and well-being
  • Collaborate with families, teachers, and school staff to develop and implement individualized support plans
  • Conduct assessments, counseling, crisis intervention, and referrals as needed
  • Maintain thorough documentation and case notes in compliance with school and district policies
  • Work alongside a part-time social worker who provides additional support within the building

Qualifications:

  • Current licensure or certification in social work preferred (LCSW, LMSW) or relevant educational background
  • Experience working with early childhood and elementary age students in a school environment
  • Strong understanding of child development, family systems, and intervention strategies
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload while providing individualized attention
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and interpersonal skills

Location: Chicago, IL early childhood school setting

This position offers a structured 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM schedule, supporting students and families throughout the full school year. Collaboration with a part-time social worker enables comprehensive coverage and resource sharing.
