Clinical Social Worker (Case Manager)

Job Description: The Case Manager will screen incoming students for severity of problems, provide education and/or referral services for those students whose clinical needs are beyond the scope of Student Counseling Services, and track the number of students accessing services. This position improves the overall functionality of the counseling program by offering prompt service for those incoming students who need emergency services and by aiding students in need of other services.
Responsibilities:
- Assess the social and emotional needs of students who present with psychological concerns. Provide counseling services to students and assess needs related to their mental health status as appropriate to the worker's professional training.
- Set appointments, referrals, and makes presentations to others in the campus community.
- Work collaboratively with the health care team and community agencies to develop a plan of care which is appropriate for the student's health status and psychosocial situation.
- Assist students who need help finding appropriate treatment providers in the local area, on campus, near a hometown, or for students whose needs do not require clinical intervention.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet the organizations needs.
Required Education and Experience:
- Master's degree in Counseling and Guidance, Social Work, Counseling, Clinical Psychology, or other specialty related to job function.
- Two years of relevant experience.
Required Registration, Certification, or Licensure:
- Certification or Licensure - Texas Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate (LPC-A). Must maintain licensure for continued employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree with two or more years of experience in a university counseling center or mental health setting.
- Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Work, Licensed Psychologist.
