Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in child and family counseling, crisis intervention, and special education. This role involves working closely with students, families, and school staff to support the mental health and educational needs of all students in special education. The School Psychologist will play a crucial role in developing individualized education plans (IEPs), conducting psychological assessments, and implementing effective behavioral health strategies. This position supports the school divisions that participate in the regional education program.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations for students.
  • Provide individual and group counseling services to students experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student's needs.
  • Develop safety plans and crisis intervention strategies for at-risk students.
  • Engage in conflict management and crisis management to support student well-being.
  • Utilize applied behavior analysis techniques to promote positive behavior changes.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Participate in early intervention programs to support students with developmental disabilities.
  • Conduct psychological testing as needed to inform educational strategies.
  • Offer case management services to coordinate care for students requiring additional support.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field.
  • Valid state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist.
  • Experience working with children, particularly those with disabilities or special needs.
  • Strong knowledge of behavioral health practices, including psychotherapy and patient care.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and documentation processes.
  • Proven ability in crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and case management.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with students, families, and school personnel.
  • Experience in developing safety plans and implementing behavioral management strategies.
