Second Story for Teens in Crisis is an adolescent group home located in Vienna, VA. We are looking for a bilingual (fully fluent in both English and Spanish) individual to work as a full-time Residential Counselor. This is an excellent entry-level introduction to case management and crisis counseling in the mental health/social services field. Ideal candidates will be compassionate, adaptable, culturally competent, and eager to learn with strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.

Responsibilities:

• Support residents through the daily house schedule
• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions
• Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy living environment
• Provide clinical case management, including case notes and treatment plans
• Answer crisis hotline calls
• Conduct intakes and discharges
• Provide oral and written translation services to residents and their families as needed

Schedule Options (hours are non-negotiable):

SCHEDULE OPTION 1:

• Monday: 3:30pm-11:30pm
• Tuesday: 10:30am-6:30pm
• Wednesday: 2:30pm-11:30pm
• Thursday: OFF
• Friday: OFF
• Saturday: 10am-5pm
• Sunday: 8:30am-4:30pm

SCHEDULE OPTION 2:

• Monday: 8:30am-4:30pm
• Tuesday: 8:30am-4:30pm
• Wednesday: 2:30pm-11:30pm
• Thursday: 3:30pm-10:30pm
• Friday: OFF
• Saturday: 8:30am-4:30pm
• Sunday: OFF

Qualifications:

• REQUIRED: Must have a bachelor’s degree (preferably in psychology, social work, human services, or a related field)
• REQUIRED: Must be fully fluent in both English and Spanish
• REQUIRED: Must be willing to undergo background investigations prior to employment and become certified in CPR/First Aid and Medication Management
• PREFERRED: Prior experience in the mental health field, especially with teens

Salary:

This position pays $24 per hour.
