Salary: Starting at $74,000-$100,000 based on experience.


Statement of Purpose: The Development Director is responsible for overseeing all philanthropic activities on behalf of the Foundation.

Essential Functions:

  1. Develop and implement the Foundation’s annual and long-range development plans, serving as the primary lead to providing vision, strategy, leadership, and management of the Foundations’ philanthropic activities. This will include but is not limited to; annual campaigns, major giving activities, foundation/corporate giving and planned giving.
  2. Will work in conjunction with the Executive Director in developing, implementing, and maintaining a successful donor cultivation and stewardship program to include creating systems and processes for prospect research, gift processing, donor acknowledgment, and ongoing reporting systems.
  3. Responsible for creating and managing the Foundation’s annual development budgets.
  4. Partner with appropriate departments at CAN as appropriate to execute donor outreach activities.
  5. Maintain the Foundation’s donor database and track fundraising metrics to help evaluate effectiveness of campaigns.
  6. Work with the Executive Director to properly promote activities to donors through the Foundation’s website, social media channels, and through other traditional communications activities.
  7. Cultivate ongoing partnerships with philanthropic, corporate, and community organizations aligned with the Foundation.
  8. Represent the Foundation at local and national conferences and community events.
  9. Research, write and manage grant proposals and develop required reports.
  10. Responsible for raising the profile of the program of work at the Foundation as well as CAN Community Health to potential funders.
  11. Attend Foundation board meetings when required.
