- Provides services to individuals with disabilities to enable them to obtain independence and maintain safe and sanitary living conditions.
- Performs personal care tasks, including assistance with basic personal hygiene and grooming, feeding, and ambulation, medical monitoring, and healthcare-related tasks.
- Reminds and assists clients with self-administration of medications (with proper training).
- Monitors clients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and reporting changes to designated parties.
- Documents services provided.
- Performs daily personal hygiene care and housekeeping duties.
- Prepares meals and assisting clients with eating and drinking.Assists with the use of incontinence products or providing bathroom visit support.
- Runs errands, including shopping for groceries and essential household items.
- Assists clients from their beds into chairs or wheelchairs and back.
- Accompanying and driving clients on trips, such as medical appointments.
- Maintains a clean, tidy, and safe environment.
- Provides and participates in social and recreational activities.
- Attends meetings and training as required.
- Advocates for the individual(s) they serve.
- Experience in the behavioral field (RBT, BT, etc.) or nursing and home health (CNA, CHHA, etc.) highly preferred.
- A valid driver’s license.
- A vehicle with current insurance and registration.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- Negative TB test result from within the past year, or willingness to obtain prior to start date.
- Minimum 1+ year of caregiving experience.
- Ability to pass FBI/DOJ LiveScan background check and DMV records check.
- Schedule that permits working irregular hours, such as weekends, holidays, and/or overnights.
- Knowledge of best practices in providing care to vulnerable populations.
