Americare Behavioral Health - IHT Intake Coordinator Position
Job Summary:
The In-Home Therapy (IHT) Intake Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for families, referral sources, and providers seeking IHT services. This role ensures a smooth intake process by managing referrals, gathering clinical and demographic information, coordinating with clinicians, and supporting timely assignment of families to appropriate providers. The Intake Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring that services begin promptly, efficiently, and in accordance with program guidelines and state regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and process referrals for In-Home Therapy services from external providers, families, and agencies.
- Conduct intake screenings, including gathering client history, insurance/eligibility verification, and presenting concerns.
- Coordinate with Clinical Supervisors to match families with appropriate IHT Clinicians and Therapeutic Training & Support (TT&S) staff.
- Serve as a liaison between referral sources, families, and internal staff to ensure smooth communication and timely service initiation.
- Maintain accurate records of referrals, intake documentation, and service authorizations in compliance with agency and state standards.
- Provide families with orientation to services, answer initial questions, and support engagement at the start of treatment.
- Track caseload openings and manage clinician capacity to ensure timely assignment of new clients.
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with program leadership to improve the intake and referral process.
- Uphold principles of cultural competence, trauma-informed care, and family-centered practices throughout the intake process.
Requirements
Required:
- High school or Bachelor’s degree.
- Prior experience in behavioral health, care coordination, or intake/administrative roles.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred:
- Experience with community-based behavioral health services (e.g., IHT, CBHI, Wraparound).
- Knowledge of insurance authorization processes (MassHealth, commercial plans, etc.).
- Bilingual

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 / hour
