About Job

Catalina Foothills School District is seeking a qualified Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to provide part-time support to students, staff, and families. The BCBA will oversee and support district inclusion educational assistants and/or behavior technicians, provide consultation to school teams, and ensure the use of evidence-based practices that promote positive student outcomes.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide oversight, guidance, and supervision to district inclusion educational assistants and/or behavior technicians, ensuring adherence to ethical and professional standards.
  • Collaborate with school teams to design, monitor, and adjust individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs), as needed, and guide data-driven decision-making.
  • Support the training and coaching of staff in the implementation of evidence-based behavior strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of services, supervision, and student progress in compliance with district, state, and professional requirements.
  • Consult with administrators, teachers, related service providers, and parents to foster positive behavioral supports across school environments.
  • Ensure compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and district policies related to student behavior and support.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Knowledge of:
  • Federal, state, and district policies, procedures, laws, and regulations related to special education.
  • The educational system and its critical components, including ethical/legal responsibilities applying to BCBAs in the educational setting.
  • Report writing techniques.
  • Intervention, including but not limited to: building replacement skills, implementing reinforcement systems, and using task analysis, prompting, shaping, and fading strategies for skill acquisition.
  • Skill in communicating effectively, orally, and in writing with correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and the Google Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to:
  • Work cooperatively, effectively, and respectfully with staff, parents, and students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Provide staff training and consultation related to behavioral interventions.
  • Work independently with little direction.
  • Meet schedules and timelines.
  • Apply common sense understanding to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
  • Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
  • Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or related field.
  • Experience working with school-aged students and supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.
  • Knowledge of special education law and best practices in Positive Behavior Supports (PBS).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Must possess a valid Arizona Driver’s License
Preferred:
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Proficiency:
  • Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint & Word, Google Suite, and specialized IEP software.
