ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:

Established in 1970, Boley Centers, Inc., is a private, non-profit organization serving individuals with mental disabilities, individuals and families who are homeless, Veterans and youth in Pinellas County. Boley Centers, Inc., a nationally recognized and accredited behavioral health care agency, has an opening for a full-time Outpatient Therapist.


JOB SUMMARY:

The Outpatient Therapist provides specialized individual and group therapy to individuals in recovery from Severe and Persistent Mental Health and co-occurring substance use disorder for clients receiving services in Life Enhancement Activities Program (LEAP), Residential Treatment Facility (RTF) group homes, and Supported Housing. Counseling sessions will take place at the Koenig Center Campus or on location where the individual lives. Serves as liaison between RTF, LEAP, and Supported Housing staff to provide clinical support and advocacy for individuals receiving outpatient counseling services and completes all required documentation.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Master’s degree in behavioral health and Registered Internship for or completed LMHC/LCSW. Education must be from an accredited school, college, or university.

Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with adults with co-occurring severe and persistent mental health and substance misuse disorders. Experience assessing and managing symptoms of psychosis and mood disorders.

Knowledge of counseling techniques, with focus on cognitive behavioral and recovery-oriented strategies and its application, as well as best practices for to individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders. Knowledge of psychopharmacology and the interaction with alcohol and other drugs. Knowledge of Social Determinants of Health, Trauma Informed Care, Complex, Acute and Chronic Trauma, Risk Assessment for Suicide and Harm to Self and Others, De-escalation and Crisis management.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Good skills and demonstrated abilities in oral and written communication techniques, coordination/cooperation, follow through, interpersonal relations, attention to detail, use of basic language, following verbal and written procedures/instructions, recording information orally and in writing, instructing, teaching, coaching, internal and external public relations, working independently, verbal crisis intervention techniques, planning, problem solving, flexibility, decision making, scheduling own work, counseling techniques, organizing own work, able to work in a multidisciplinary team and such others that are usually and customarily considered necessary for satisfactory completion of essential duties.


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Valid Florida driver's license, auto insurance and own transportation vehicle required.

Must pass a level II background check and drug screen.
