Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health counseling and a passion for helping individuals and families navigate their challenges. This role involves providing therapeutic support, conducting assessments, and developing treatment plans for clients of all ages, with a particular focus on children and families. The LCSW will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments to identify mental health needs and develop tailored treatment plans.
- Provide crisis intervention and management for clients experiencing acute distress or emergencies.
- Engage in motivational interviewing techniques to facilitate client engagement and readiness for change.
- Offer child and family counseling services, addressing developmental, behavioral, and emotional issues.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, including intake forms, progress notes, and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for clients with complex needs, including those with developmental disabilities or PTSD.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives and data collection to contribute to the advancement of social work practices.
- Provide education and support to clients regarding addiction counseling, behavioral therapy, and coping strategies.
- Ensure effective case management by monitoring client progress and adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Supervise practicum and intern students.
Skills
- Proficient in psychotherapy techniques including individual counseling, crisis intervention, and behavioral health strategies.
- Experience working with children, families, and individuals with disabilities.
- Familiarity with EMR systems for medical records management and documentation.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards.
- Strong skills in patient care assessment, clinical counseling, diagnostic evaluation, and case management.
- Ability to conduct research related to clinical practices and contribute to evidence-based improvements in service delivery.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Understanding of special education needs and experience.
