Responsibilities
General description of services and support:
- Person centered problem solving – every case is different and every client is different. It helps to have a working knowledge and understanding of various disabilities, especially Autism, but every case is still different. Specific challenging behaviors are not always clear. A team member must be able to identify the roadblocks and creatively problem-solve to overcome them.
- Team collaboration – a typical team can include the client (individual with support needs), all family members, the Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, CSB Support Coordinator, a therapist, employer (possibly multiple supervisors) and an Employment Specialist. A team member must be able to bring all these parties together to implement strategies and act as a team.
- Exceptional time management – a team member must be able to manage their own schedule and appointments. This requires good communication and planning. Consider organizing team meetings to include all team members mentioned above.
- Behavior specific support – a team member will be able to do the following independently:
- Functional behavior assessment to include:
- FBA interviews with all relevant team members
- Comprehensive records review
- Person Centered Thinking Tools
- Observation/data collection/data analyzation
- Write a person-centered behavior support plan
- Implement strategies from the BSP and train all team members for effectiveness of strategies.
Location: Primary locations for in person work include Lynchburg, VA, and surrounding areas.
- This is not a remote position. A team member would need to be able to travel to the above areas for face-to-face support. Again, travel time is billable at the full reimbursement rate.
