Key Responsibilities:
Client Assessment and Evaluation:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify clients' mental health and behavioral health needs.
- Diagnose mental health conditions and create individualized treatment plans.
- Use evidence-based assessment tools to guide evaluation.
Therapeutic Interventions:
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy using various therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and other evidence-based practices.
- Offer crisis intervention and support when needed.
Case Management:
- Develop, implement, and manage personalized case plans that align with each client’s needs and goals.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and primary care physicians, to ensure clients receive holistic care.
- Advocate for clients within the healthcare system to secure appropriate services and resources.
Client Education and Support:
- Educate clients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies to enhance understanding and promote recovery.
- Provide resources and ongoing support to help clients manage their mental health conditions and lead healthier lives.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Document all interactions, treatment plans, progress notes, and relevant case details to ensure continuity of care.
- Prepare reports and case summaries for stakeholders as required.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, contributing to team meetings, care conferences, and the development of treatment plans.
- Foster effective collaboration to ensure comprehensive care delivery for each client.
Professional Development:
- Stay current with developments in behavioral health, therapeutic practices, and social work.
- Engage in ongoing education and training to maintain licensure and stay informed about advancements in the field.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Master's or doctoral degree in counseling from an accredited institution.
Licensure:
- Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in South Dakota state.
Experience:
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in behavioral health or a related field, demonstrating competency in clinical practices and client care.
Skills:
- Strong skills in client assessment and diagnosis, ensuring accurate identification of mental health concerns.
- Expertise in implementing therapeutic interventions, including crisis management and evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for effective interaction with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, necessary for managing caseloads and maintaining documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
