Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing psychotherapy and counseling services, particularly for children and families. This role involves working with diverse populations, including individuals with developmental disabilities, PTSD, and those requiring addiction counseling. The LCMHC will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions in both individual and group settings.
Responsibilities
- Provide psychotherapy and clinical counseling to clients, utilizing techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and motivational interviewing.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine mental health needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions to promote peer support and shared experiences among clients.
- Engage in crisis intervention and management to address immediate client needs effectively.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, including intake forms, progress notes, and treatment summaries.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for clients with complex needs, including those with developmental disabilities or behavioral health challenges.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives and data collection efforts to enhance service delivery and outcomes.
- Provide home and community care services as needed, ensuring that clients receive comprehensive support in their environments.
- Stay informed about advancements in the field of mental health counseling through ongoing education and professional development.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Counseling or a related field; current licensure as an LCMHC is required.
- Experience in psychotherapy, particularly with children and families; familiarity with pediatric care is a plus.
- Knowledge of EMR systems for efficient patient record management.
- Background in behavioral therapy techniques such as applied behavior analysis is preferred.
- Experience working with individuals facing addiction issues or PTSD care is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding practices is beneficial.
- Strong skills in case management, diagnostic evaluation, and crisis intervention strategies.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating independence in managing client caseloads.
