Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in counseling, Counseling/Psychology or Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Working knowledge of the practices, procedures, processes and/or protocols for the provision of counseling services in a mental health agency or college or university counseling center.
  • Working knowledge of college student development.
  • Licensed eligible within one year as a Professional Counselor or Clinical Social Worker.
  • Internship at a University/College Counseling Services or mental health agency.
  • Completion of graduate internship at a mental health agency.
  • Some experience as a counselor in college/university counseling center or in a mental health agency.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer licensed in VA as a licensed professional counselor or social worker.
  • Prefer working experience in a college counseling center which includes training practicum and intern students.
  • Prefer Doctoral Degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work from an accredited institution.
