Position Summary:
This position supports the strategic operation of FCC Live Well to provide accessible mental health and wellness support to FCC students. This role plays a critical part in ensuring smooth office operations, facilitating direct support for students, assisting counselors, and enhancing outreach and wellness programming. Given the high demand for mental health support and the importance of wellness initiatives on campus, this position ensures reliable, comprehensive service to students, faculty, and staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following are the functions essential to performing this job:
1. Serve as a confidential assistant to the Director of Student Wellness and Support.
2. Assist in managing and deescalating mental health crises by monitoring students and supporting counselors during high-need moments, helping to ensure a safe, supportive environment.
3. Oversee appointment scheduling for counselors, ensuring efficient access to counseling services and support for students seeking immediate assistance.
4. Act as a key point of contact in the office, helping students navigate resources, policies, and expectations within the FCC Live Well space.
5. Maintain inventory and handle procurement for all FCC Live Well supplies to ensure uninterrupted operations.
6. Assist with data entry and tracking for outreach events, appointments, and wellness programming to monitor engagement and report on program effectiveness.
7. Actively support planning, coordination, and execution of wellness events, workshops, and information sessions, including logistics, promotions, and follow-up.
8. Maintain a high level of confidentiality for all interactions, documentation, and student records per college, HIPAA and FERPA policies.
9. Work closely with counselors and support staff to optimize wellness programming, create a welcoming atmosphere, and proactively address emerging needs.
10. Assist with basic case management support by tracking referrals, maintaining follow-up logs, and coordinating non-clinical wellness resources in collaboration with the FCC Live Well team.
11. Provide additional support for special projects and other departmental needs as requested.
Required Minimum Qualifications
1. Associate’s Degree in a field related to Social Sciences (social work, psychology, etc)
2. Previous experience providing customer service.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and data management systems.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. Commitment to supporting a diverse student population and fostering an inclusive campus environment.
6. Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Desired Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
2. Experience in crisis management or customer-facing roles within a healthcare or educational setting.
3. Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and work autonomously in a high-demand environment.
4. Previous experience with event planning, outreach, and community engagement initiatives.
5. Knowledge of mental health and wellness resources or experience in a counseling environment.
6. Certification in Mental Health First Aid or willingness to complete within first 6 months of hire.
