Salary: $33.50/hr. Location: Belmont, CA (Hybrid or Remote)Position SummaryThe Admissions Counselor is responsible for representing Notre Dame de Namur University (NDNU) to prospective students, guiding them through the admissions process, to achieve the university’s enrollment goals. This role involves student recruitment, application review, counseling prospective students, and participating in outreach activities to promote NDNU’s graduate and credential programs in alignment with the university’s mission and values.Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Outreach
  • Represent NDNU at college fairs, graduate school fairs, community events, and information sessions both on and off campus.
  • Develop relationships with prospective students, school counselors, faculty, and community partners.
  • Conduct on-campus and virtual presentations to promote NDNU programs and admissions opportunities.
  • Manage an assigned geographic territory and/or program portfolio, including outreach planning and follow-up.
  • Maintain a high volume of outbound calls and student appointments
Admissions Counseling & Application Review
  • Advise prospective students and applicants regarding NDNU programs, admissions requirements, financial aid resources, and the enrollment process.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries via phone, email, text, and in-person meetings.
  • Review and evaluate applications for admission in accordance with university policies and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the admissions team to ensure timely decision-making and communication with applicants.
Campus Engagement & Events
  • Assist in planning and executing on-campus events, such as open houses, admitted student days, and program information sessions.
  • Coordinate campus tours and connect prospective students with faculty, staff, and current students.
Data & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of prospective student interactions in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system (Element451).
  • Track and report on recruitment and conversion activities.
Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with colleagues in Admissions, Marketing & Communications, Financial Aid, and Academic Departments to ensure a seamless recruitment and enrollment process.
  • Participate in regular staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and university events.
Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to NDNU’s mission and the Hallmarks of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur.
  • Willingness and ability to travel and work evenings/weekends as needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort with CRM systems.
Preferred:
  • Experience in admissions, recruitment, academic advising, or student services.
  • Familiarity with Element451 or similar CRM systems.
  • Knowledge of graduate and credential program recruitment.
  • Bilingual skills.
Working Conditions:
  • This position requires travel within California and occasionally out-of-state.
  • Ability to lift and carry recruitment materials (up to 25 lbs).
  • Flexibility in scheduling, including evening and weekend hours.
