About Job

Koinonia Family Services is excited to announce an opportunity for a full-time pre-licensed clinician/social worker to serve clients in our foster care and mental health programs in Temecula, CA. This is a hybrid position, with in-person work and team meetings conducted at our Temecula office, and other time spent working remotely. Koinonia is one of California’s leading children’s services agencies. Responsibilities include providing social work services for youth in our foster care program, preparing assessments, developing person-centered treatment plans, and providing therapy for clients in our mental health program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide social work and case management for children in foster and foster-to-adopt placement
  • Conduct detailed intake and assessment of youth
  • Prepare home studies and assessments of families
  • Offer timely crisis intervention services, addressing mental health, behavioral issues, or other urgent needs
  • Complete the intake of referrals for mental health services
  • Complete assessments to inform a diagnosis
  • Develop person-centered treatment plans
  • Provide individual therapy in clients' homes or in-office depending upon clients’ needs
  • Write notes and document client progress
  • Complete CANS assessments and maintain annual CANS certification
  • Complete necessary Medi-Cal approval paperwork and related documentation
  • Facilitate Child and Family Team meetings
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities
  • Assist with coordinating discharges and after-care efforts
  • Maintain intern registration and/or licensure status in good standing and participates in required supervision

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in social work (MSW) or marriage and family therapy (MFT)
  • 2+ years of experience in a social service setting, working with children and families (preferred)
  • ACSW/LCSW or AMFT/LMFT registration (required)
  • Experience completing assessments and care plans
  • Skilled in therapeutic modalities, assessments, and treatment planning
  • Strong commitment to cultural competency and ethical practices
  • Passion for ongoing professional development

This position requires a valid driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable transportation as driving is an essential job function. Clinicians are responsible for tasks such as visiting client homes, attending in-person meetings, and engaging with community partners, often in locations not easily accessible by alternative transportation methods. The nature of these responsibilities necessitates the ability to drive to ensure timely, reliable, confidential and effective support for the individuals we serve.
