Backstage Health provides high-quality, school-based healthcare services through a fully virtual telehealth model. We partner with school districts across California to deliver specialized support in areas such as psychoeducational assessments, student counseling, and IEP compliance.

We are seeking experienced, California-based School Social Workers to deliver virtual counseling and case management services. The ideal candidate will have a student-centered mindset, strong collaboration skills, and comfort working independently in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide virtual individual and group counseling aligned with student IEPs or 504 Plans
• Conduct psychosocial assessments and functional behavior observations
• Support behavioral intervention plans and social-emotional learning goals
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in IEP and SST meetings
• Maintain detailed, timely documentation in compliance with school district and state standards
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and school personnel
• Assist in crisis response and provide referrals to community-based services as needed
• Promote equity, access, and student well-being through culturally responsive practices

Requirements

• Must reside in California
• LCSW with school experience
• Proficiency with telehealth platforms and virtual documentation systems
• Reliable internet connection and access to a personal computer

Employment Type

This position is offered as a W-2 per diem role.
