Position: Aftercare Counselor
Schedule: Monday–Friday 2PM-6PM
Key Responsibilities
1. Supervision & Safety
- Maintain attentive, active supervision of all children during after-school hours.
- Monitor behavior and use positive, respectful management strategies.
- Ensure safe transitions between activities, snack time, and pick-up.
2. Structure & Engagement
- Follow and maintain the daily program schedule.
- Keep activities running smoothly and on time.
- Lead age-appropriate activities including arts, crafts, games, and group projects.
- Encourage social interaction, creativity, and teamwork.
3. Professionalism & Collaboration
- Work cooperatively with school staff to support program goals.
- Communicate effectively with families about student progress and behavior.
- Attend monthly staff meetings and scheduled training as required.
- Remain flexible and adaptable to changing schedules, student needs, and program adjustments.
4. Multitasking & Organization
- Balance supervision, activity leadership, homework assistance, and snack distribution efficiently.
- Help with cleaning and maintaining program spaces to keep them safe and inviting.
- Take attendance and maintain accurate daily records.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework in education or child development a plus).
- Prior experience working with children in a school, camp, or youth program preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong communication, multitasking, and time management skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing needs and work as part of a team.
- Physically able to participate in active games and lift up to 40–50 lbs.

Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour
